PIEDMONT CANAVESE - THE FROZEN LAKES OF GRAN PARADISO

Activity description

An unforgettable adventure among the glacial landscapes of the Gran Paradiso National Park, to discover the four largest and most evocative glacial lakes in the Canavese area. This multi-day trek will take you on alpine trails among breathtaking views, towering peaks, and unique glacial landscapes. The itinerary begins in the Orco Valley and ends in Val Soana, reaching altitudes of up to 3000 meters. You will stay overnight in refuges and bivouacs, living an authentic experience immersed in wild nature. You will be accompanied by expert guides who will guarantee safety and a deep knowledge of the area.

Day 1

Orco Valley – Teleccio Lake (1917m). Meeting with the guides and departure from Ceresole Reale, in the Orco Valley. Trekking along the path that leads to the suggestive Lake Teleccio, an artificial lake nestled in the mountains and dominated by the imposing Teleccio dam. Dinner and overnight stay in an alpine hut near the lake.

Day 2

Lake Teleccio – Lake Valsoera (2405m). Breakfast and departure to the second lake, Lake Valsoera, also artificial and of glacial origin. Along the way, you’ll be able to admire the park’s flora and fauna, including marmots and ibex. Arrival and stop at the lake to admire its crystal clear waters. Overnight stay at the Revelli Bivouac, one of the most remote and fascinating bivouacs in the Alps.

Day 3

Lake Valsoera – Lake Motta – Lake Gelato (2700m). Departure towards Lake Motta, a natural jewel of rare beauty set in the mountains. After the stop, the route continues to the highest and most remote of the lakes, Lake Gelato, located at about 2700 meters above sea level, surrounded by wild views and glaciers. Overnight stay in a bivouac, surrounded by the quiet of the mountain.

Day 4

Lake Gelato – Val Soana. Breakfast at the bivouac and departure for the last stage of the trek. Descent towards Val Soana, crossing breathtaking landscapes and scenic paths. Arrival in Val Soana in the afternoon and conclusion of the trek.
