Outside the town, follow the signs for Val di Viù. The road immediately starts to climb, alternating with flat sections until you reach the town. A slight descent to Versino, turn left and start the climb to Col del Lys, 13.5 km with an average gradient
of 4.3%. The long descent takes us to the Susa Valley, passing through Rubiana to Sant’Ambrogio di Torino. Turn right towards Susa, where the road climbs gently but with gentle, rideable gradients. On the roads of Turin, to honor the achievements of the Greats. From Coppi to Balmamion, to the unfortunate Marco Pantani. We arrive at San Francesco al Campo, known for its velodrome, which has seen many champions ride, including Filippo Ganna. Continuing towards Leinì, we head towards the hills and arrive at San Mauro. Leaving the center of San Mauro, we turn right and begin the 9 km climb with an average gradient of 4.7% and maximum peaks of 11% that will take us to Superga. The arrival at the square in front of the Basilica has seen the conclusion of several editions of the Giro del Piemonte and Milano-Torino. Superga is also sadly famous for the serious accident involving Marco Pantani on October 19, 1995. Turin has hosted the Giro in several editions and will be the arrival point for the 14th stage in 2022.
At the end of the stage, to reward your efforts, it is almost obligatory to refresh yourself with a typical merenda sinoira, the traditional Piedmontese aperitif, with local cold cuts and cheeses accompanied by excellent wines from the Turin hills.
– Return to the hotel, dinner on your own, and overnight stay.

LENGTH 44 KM
ELEVATION GAIN 549 M
MINIMUM ALTITUDE 202 M
MAXIMUM ALTITUDE 672 M
ROAD BIKE – GRAVEL

The Giro d’Italia passed through Nole Canavese in 2019 during the 13th stage from Pinerolo to Ceresole Reale to pay tribute to the great champion Franco Balmamion, a native of Nole. Hundreds of champions have passed through this valley. A
route that is already legendary, reaching an altitude of 1800m at Pian della Mussa.
The ride starts in the center of Ciriè, in front of the Town Hall, where many Criterium races have been organized by GS Brunero, the historic team that has trained hundreds of amateur cyclists. Once we arrive in Villanova Canavese, we cross the Stura di Lanzo river and continue along the left side of the valley, passing through Lanzo until we reach Germagnano. Continue along the main road in the valley until km 24, turn left and climb up the Val d’Ala, where the road begins to get steep. You pass through the town of Ala di Stura, a ski resort, and continue for about 7 km on gentle slopes until you reach Balme, where the slopes reach a gradient of 12%.
The road then climbs steeply for about 1.5 km, reaching an altitude of 1,200 m. The last 2 km, which are less demanding, allow you to enjoy the splendid landscape of Pian della Mussa, a plateau of hundreds of hectares of pasture, 3 km long.
At the end of the stage, accommodation in a mountain refuge with a typical merenda sinoira, the traditional Piedmontese aperitif, with cold cuts and Toma di Lanzo, a cheese produced in the mountain pastures during the summer, accompanied by excellent locally produced beer.
The refuge is easily accessible and offers all the comforts required today, in a familiar and welcoming environment. Nordic walking is an outdoor sport, a gentle workout that develops endurance, strength, and fitness thanks to the extensive muscle involvement (85% of the body’s muscles) and is therefore also suitable for rehabilitation.
At the end, enjoy an excellent lunch at the refuge, where traditional dishes and more will be served, reviving ancient recipes using typical, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]

Rates per person starting from:

€ 398.00 (mininum 1 person)

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”100px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Description of activities The guidebook “Il Grande Ciclismo in Piemonte” (Great Cycling in Piedmont), published by UNCEM, offers 28 itineraries to test yourself against the climbs of cycling champions.
