The north side is considered one of the toughest climbs in Europe, for a length of 18.5 km on over 1,700m of elevation gain, an average gradient of 9.1% almost constant throughout the route and the last dirt stretch to the top to make it more challenging and suggestive. The climb of the Colle delle Finestre has been covered 4 times in the Giro d&#8217;Italia. In 2018 the col was the scene of Chris Froome&#8217;s solo breakaway, who then arrived victorious in Bardonecchia to win the pink jersey.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<div id=\"ui-id-2\" class=\"post-programma accordion-content ui-accordion-content ui-corner-bottom ui-helper-reset ui-widget-content ui-accordion-content-active\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"ui-id-1\" aria-hidden=\"false\">\n<p><strong>Day 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check-in at the 3* Hotel in Sousse.<br \/>\nFree afternoon to discover the most fascinating places in the area. You cannot miss a visit to the city of Susa, Segusium in Latin, which was originally inhabited by the Ligurians, by the Celts as early as 500 years BC and then by the Romans. And watch out for punctures!<br \/>\nThe 38 km route with an elevation gain of 1,751 m starts from Chiomonte in the Susa Valley and then descends in the direction of Susa for 8 km. We follow the signs for Meana, after about 500m the legendary 18.5 km climb of the Colle delle Finestre begins. A network of military roads offer routes suitable for all needs.
